MONDAY MOMENT W/ ROB HILL, SR.

Expectations aren’t the easiest way to get let down, not having them is. The crazy thing about expectations is that when you care, it’s impossible not to have them. Whether you voice it or not, you expect something from somebody. Even if its expecting simple things like truth & loyalty. Most people are just afraid to hold each other accountable and that’s why the high standards are so low these days. So what if you fall short at times, let downs are a part of life, not the end of it. Since when is it a crime to naturally expect our loved ones to adore and support us? What’s so wrong with expecting our friends to tell us what we need to hear instead of what we may want to hear? Expectations are NECESSARY. Especially if you ever want to be fulfilled or happy in life. If you can’t handle disappointments productively then you won’t be able to handle much in life. You can’t break down at every bump in the road. You have to be tougher than that. Most anger comes from unbalanced expectations. “You can’t love pint people on a gallon level”. Stop expecting people to operate outside of their capacity. Not everyone is real, trustworthy, or loyal. If you’ve learned not to expect anything from certain people in your life, that’s a clear indication of who shouldn’t be in it. Making exceptions is far more dangerous than having expectations. Don’t be afraid to expect, be afraid of letting disappointment get you so discouraged that you just settle for “whatever”.
Just my thoughts good people, just my thoughts
